This community is located in the department of Valle del Cauca. It has a territory of 43 square kilometers at 1,416 meters above sea level. It is located about 250 km from Santiago de Cali by highway.
Most of the highways are paved within the community. As for the public services, it has 33.2% coverage for telephone services in the urban area while it is only 10.8% in its rural part. Electricity is available to 95% of the population in the urban area and 96% on the rural setting. Water is available to 94% of the population.
It's economy is mostly agriculture, mainly coffee crops and bananas. Other than that, it does not have more job options, which forces local people to work in nearby cities.
