Communities interviewed in Quiche (Brown University)
The department of Quiché is located in the Southwest region. It shares its northern border with Mexico, its southern border with the departments of Chimaltenango y Solola, its eastern border with the departments of Alta Verapaz and Baja Verapaz, and its western border with the departments of Totonicapan and Huehuetenango.
Due to the fact that the department of Quiché has been populated since ancient times, it is one of the departments that has the most dialects.
Surveys on this community include regular LAMP questions in addition to contraceptive use, mayan language use, and migration to other countries.
