Community 4 is the only one that is not part of Lima city, though it is located in the same departamento. It is a town of 30,000 inhabitants, some 80 kilometers south of the city of Lima. It is accessible through the Panamericana Sur highway. It is a mostly rural population that has received significant internal migratory flows, from the central sierra and from the capital. The survey site is located within 30-year old neighborhood. The community residents are mainly employed in agriculture, retail trade and mining.
