Community 3 is located in the Quindío department, just West of the Central Mountains. It is 23 kilometers away from Armenia, the capital. Its location is 1,923 above sea level and its mean annual temperature is 68° F. Its economy is based on local products of craftmenship, tourism, and agriculture, where coffee is the main crop. Milk production is one of the main activities as well. The community has two public hospitals, one of them is for general medicine and the other one offers psychiatric attention. As for public services, it has the following coverage: piped water 99.12%, electricity 98.72%, sewer 99.07%, and phone services 49.45%. It has 4 public schools and its public infrastructure is good. All its streets are paved and in good condition. It has only one bank and one exchange house, which makes it easy to have foreign currency exchange.
